yo everyone!

okay, the chalet is really nearing and like yeah just a last notice for everyone in case you guys forget about the important stuffs. oh yeah, we've drafted out a schedule somehow and like there're games and stuffs. hahah, and of course it'll be best if you guys have any good ideas for the games. because afterall, everyone would want the chalet to be as perfect as it can be.

in case you guys haven't read the first few posts about the chalet, the chalet will be at coasta sands (pasir ris) unit B06. yeah, we'll be meeting at 12.45 pm at the jurong east mrt station's control station (the tap card place). please do not be late for more than 15 minutes because the time is really late already. ;D for those who are going on their own for the barbecue itself, train down to pasir ris and then take bus 354 from the bus interchange. if you're still unsure on how to go, please contact me (iris ng).

barbecue starts around five pm plus. oh yeah, for those who are coming for all the days, bring along a change of clothes cos' we will be playing water activities. and those staying overnight, please bring your SLEEPING BAG and torchlight and it's compulsory.

food will be provided for the next few days somehow, but yeah of course the meals will not be as yummy and good lah. oh yeah, it will be awesome if you guys can bring along some tidbits or drinks.

(those who haven't paid for the barbecue please remember to bring seven bucks.)

the class chalet has been booked and confirmed.

because of the delay, the chalet booked only has one storey.

hello all.
some of us went to check out the chalet prices yesterday and like these are the following details, please give feedback on the dates you want at the tag board. thank you. because this will be greatly appreciated. (:

erm, the chalet will be at coasta sands resort (Pasir Ris).

available dates:
15/11/2009 - 17/11/2009 [$192]
25/11/2009 - 27/11/2009 [$270 - $330]

both chalets have double storeys.

the later dates will be slightly more expensive because it's approaching the year end. and, erm some of our class mates have like activities between 16th to the 26th. and it's an everyday thing, so if we choose the first, they can only turn up for the first day which is the barbeque. but if we choose the second. they can stay for a night.

oh one last thing, the us people are leaving on the 21st.

Hi this is Neil here!(If you even remember me or have noticed an empty chair in the beginning)
I would just like to wish you all good luck for the forthcoming exams.Give it your all for the
final hurrah and I hope to never see you again in Sec 3 on a positive note.(I will be retaining)

Although you might have never thought of me recently I have always missed school, my friends
and acquaintances and although it is such a commidity(going to school), you only realise it when you actually miss it and i have certainly had a weird way of finding out.

Anyways i have the green light to come back to school because i have finally reached the maintainence stage but its too late now so i will be returning to school next year.

I am certainly a different person after such experiences and it has changed my perspective of life and i hope to help others in the near future who were not as fortunate as me to come out of it soon enough.

PS: My birthday is on the 6th of october for those of who who want to know and sorry if my english is bad cause i've never been feeling that well to practice my english or in fact to even study until now.

Finally we got a reply for C.I.P yeah happy happy.... Special thanks to Jasmine =X

This project is by NUS Project C.A.N. VI

Objective:
To sort food items collected according to the needs and food preference of the beneficiaries
To encourage volunteers to be sensitive to the needs of others and, in doing so, inculcate values of care and concern to the less privileged in the society

Description:
A beneficiary [individual households] visit will be carried out prior to the sorting phase to interact with beneficiaries as well as to inquire about their needs and food preferences.
The sorting phase is carried out concurrently with C.A.N. Collect and C.A.N. Challenge.
To improve the overall efficiency, a sorting process/procedure has been designed.
Volunteers will help to inspect and sort food items collected on the phases mentioned above, based on
(1) expiry date,
(2) food categories [halal, non-halal, vegetarian etc], and
(3) product categories [rice, biscuits, canned food etc].

The items will then be packed into personalized packs for each household.
Doing so encourages volunteers to be sensitive to the needs of beneficiaries of different race, religion and medical background.
i.e. beneficiaries with diabetes.

In addition, the sorting process requires the coordination between volunteers, hence encourage team work between volunteers of different institutes.
C.A.N. Sort will be a half day event for 2 days [18 July and 25 July] , 1.00 pm till 6.00pm.

So we NEED to separate the class into two one will follow me and the other will follow Jun Jie:D:D Will spilt the class when school reopens=X=X

Most likely Amirtha and Joshua will be separated too.... Dun sad haha jkjk

According to some information I've gathered from my peers, we would be performing our CEP skit on the second week of Term 3 (2009).

CEP stands for Character Education Programme, which doesn't seem to differ in any way with CDP haha.

Okay I shall cut this crap short. By 1st June 2009 you guys MUST have received your copy of the skit booklet (action plan + script + etc etc). Otherwise, you're behind time! If so you'd better get your copy from your buddy, if he/she doesn't have it, from the fatty bombom Jeremy Teng! ROFLMAO

Please take good care of that booklet since you guys are gonna possess it through the holidays. Treat it like your boyfriend/girlfriend, though you might have one already. Each booklet costs 30 cents - I'll try not to get the 30 cents from you guys though. I'll see if it's possible to get it from the class fund o.o

But I'll become your loan shark once you lose your booklet or misplaced it or need a new one or whatever that constitutes getting a new copy of the booklet. 30 cents charge. hahaha! But of course that doesn't mean you keep mum if you lose the booklet hehe.

I really hope no one loses it or I'll be very disappointed :( HAHA

the shirts look slanted because i had to take it from an angle so there's no shadow. so it's not slanted.

which will be dark purple if the shirt is lime green.

which will also be dark purple.

our names will be in the boxes. there are 40 boxes. =)
and the boxes will be red.
Also, in the front picture, there can be a black band on the sleeves? so maybe the sleeves look better too.

So i guess dark purple, red and black can contrast with lime green.

Annoucements:

1. Class test on SEPARATION TECHNIQUES next Tuesday 14th April, CME Period slot. (30mins)

2. CTSS mid year that was supposedly due during wed's remedial slot, will now be brought forward to TUESDAY's CME slot to go through.

3. Practical worksheets on chromatography & crystallisation DUE MONDAY MORNING. (in Mrs Yeo's pigeon hole)
(the lab is ALWAYS open. if not, go to the 3rd floor to look for the lab tech to get him/her to open for you)

4. I handed out 4 sets of extra worksheets to Joshua. If u want them, specifically which ones, SOMEONE please take the initiative to compile a list, and i'll print the final numbers for those people who wants. Maybe almas you can take charge.

5. Attached you'll find the answers to worksheet 1 on purity, and worksheet 3 on chromatography, so you can mark them yourselves. You were supposed to have done them!
worksheet 2 on distalliation has already been done in class..

6. I pinned topic 6 notes (on separation techniques) on the class notice board (if anyone noticed), because there were some blanks that we didnt have time to fill. so do go fill them up.

7. when you study the topic on separation techniques, in addition to knowing the methods (such as filtration, crystillation etc), you are also expected to know the uses of basic laboratory apparatus, and is expected to be able to come up with designs to carry out an experiment, given a scenario.
